Charlie & Ruthie's Professional Recognition

  • Charlie received an honorary Doctorate of Science, University of the Ozarks. And he successfully completed the Environmental Management Association's comprehensive written examination to become a Certified Professional Food Sanitarian.
  • Charlie was awarded a PhB - Doctorate of Philosophy in BBQ, and Ruthie received a Masters in BBQ from the Faculty and Board of Directors of the "Grease House University," (very serious Kansas City BBQuers making fun of themselves).
  • Both Charlie and Ruthie were chosen as official BBQ chefs for the St. Louis Chapter for its James Beard Foundation's Wine & Food Tasting. The late Mr. Beard was a nationally recognized American cookbook author, who championed popular American cuisine, including BBQ.
